I met Dr. Jason Campbell at the Voices of Dentistry Summit in Nashville, TN. He has a fascinating story and is engaged in groundbreaking work with patients at his clinic, Cosmetic and Family Dentistry, in Prescott, AZ. From an early age, Jason's always wanted to be a dentist. Since genetic problems with teeth plagued him from the beginning, he brings a sense of passion to working with patients who present unique challenges.

It's time to DREAM. Dream big. Dream huge. Dream bigger than you thought you could. Dream like a child. Age should not take your dreams away. Find your dreams...then go for them! 

It's amazing how you can meet friends easily when networking. When you meet new people, have an amazing story to tell them about your practice. Be the leader that enjoys telling them about your services and the care they will receive.  

Now is the time to think about next year. There are two questions to think about:  1) What went VERY well and 2) What can the practice improve on for next year? Forward thinking is where you should be right now! 

Wayne Dyer is an amazing writer and thinker. In his book, Wisdom of the Ages, he discusses leadership and how to choose self-awareness. Please realize that when you are a boss, our words are taken deeply by the people around us. 

It's so nice to show gratitude...especially in your office. Please take time to find your gratitude and even write it down in your gratitude journal. It's amazing to have a grateful heart! 

It's amazing what you can learn from other leaders. We should always wonder how we can communicate and behave better as a leader. Leadership is a journey so watching others can truly help us expand our skill set. 

Who voted yesterday? It's fun to be a part of the process. What an amazing gift we have to go out and be a part of the presidency. Now this is a leadership role. 

Leadership and parenting are a lot the same. After reading the poem about "the chap", there are people - kids and adults - watching us. The question is...how can we be the most effective leader in our practice? What messages are we sending out?

Who is organized? Being organized is a great leadership quality. Systems and organization are a necessity in a dental practice. The question I have for you is...how do you organize your day? 

Sometimes we make the difficult decisions and we learn that leadership can be hard. Do you feel like you have failed? Most leaders do fail...but there is a way to bounce back. 

You need to understand your numbers. Check out this interview with Ross Iverson. He has worked with many businesses on financial success. Hear about the financial structure and how it can affect your team. 

Having a mentor can be outstanding! How can you mentor the people on your team? Find time to create a learning culture so the staff feels prepared. Connect with your team through mentorship. 

How do you connect and interact with people? I have found people enjoy compliments...but they need to be genuine and true. Find a way to connect and make it come from the heart. 

The best culture includes a group of self-learners. Always answer questions from people who are curious. Surround yourself with people who want to learn. 

Can you find "calm in your heart" during your days in the practice? Understanding self regulation can lead you to being calm. Find your peace of mind!

How do you celebrate? We should all let our guards down and celebrate the patients and circumstances that happen. Do we pause long enough to be excited? Try it! 

Do you know everything...or can you still learn? Being open minded is great for a leader. Make sure you can approach life this way! 

Do you know what type of leader you are? There are many theories in leadership. Learn why you should consider servant leadership to use in your practice.

We need TRUST in our interactions in the dental office. This can take time (to gain it) but our actions should show that we can be trusted. How can you do that each day?

We tend to learn a lot from our parents. Leadership surrounded me growing up and it started with my Dad, Keith. He provided me a list of nine leadership items.
